A glimpse into the past
Visit the kingdom of Swallows, House Martins and Swifts, and the largest herd of Maremma cows in Lazio in a peaceful surrounding that still looks and feels like the Roman countryside of the last century. This oasis, a piece of hidden and protected nature near Rome, is a perfect place to relax, observe, and enjoy the calm, yet exciting surroundings.

In this reserve, you never walk alone
Located very close to the Borgo di Tragliata, the so-called LIPU Oasis of Castel di Guido is a protected area and is part of the Litorale Romano State Nature Reserve. The reserve is the largest protected area of the Mediterranean Sea! The entire reserve is home to several animals, including fallow deer, European badger, red fox, wild boar, and great birds in Rome like the great egret, brown owl, and peregrine falcons.

How to get there:
By car: You can get to Castel di Guido by taking the Via Aurelia from Rome, or coming from Torrimpietra. There is a parking area in Piazza di Castel di Guido.
By bus: There is a bus stop next to Piazza di Castel di Guido. From Cornelia Metro (Subway Station) in Rome, bus line 246P (operated by ATAC) serves this destination every 60 minutes, with the first ride at 5:30 and the last one at 23:50 (workdays).
